Under supervision, the Staff Research Associate 2 (SRA 2) provides assistance to UCCE Ventura academic staff in set up of field, greenhouse and laboratory experiments; laboratory work, data collection and management; and basic data analysis for research projects. The SRA 2 maintains and organizes an electronic archive of all projects; learns and applies standard operating procedures (SOPs) diligently; assists academic staff with the development of data sets for their research projects; and learns how to use sensors and equipment, dataloggers and related equipment necessary for data collection. They will also assist academic staff with the logistics involved in organizing meetings.
The SRA 2 will be assigned the management responsibility for two laboratories, which includes ordering supplies and equipment, maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS), record keeping, and ensuring proper operation and maintenance of the laboratory equipment. In addition, the SRA 2 will manage data collection by other research support staff, field staff and volunteers.
This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed.
Hourly Salary: $27.09/hr. to $35.05/hr.
